Save half an acre of Rainforest for just £35

Rainforests are made of living carbon - more than 260 tonnes are locked away in each acre. Destroying them releases more climate warming CO2 each year than the entire USA.

Cool Earth is a charity that protects endangered rainforest. This combats global warming, protects ecosystems and provides sustainable jobs for local people.

60k Trek for The Meningitis Trust

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and had to undergo Chemo and Radiotherapy from September 2004 to May 2005.

She now wants to take back control of her life! She's determined to get fit again so did the Meningitis Trust 5 valleys walk in September 2005 (my nan had Meningitis a few years ago) In November 2006 mum did a 10k walk for Breast Cancer Care and the next challenge is this one to prove to herself she can do it... a six day trek across Abel Tasman National Park, Mount Robert and Mount Fyffe in New Zealand!

This is the next stage of my mum's own rehab to get fit. She also needs to raise £3500. Of course to do this she will need you all to help so please dig deep and sponsor her on-line.

Blogging?

I'm not sure what all this 'Blogging' is about. I think for me it will be a good way of keeping all my links and things I need to remember in one place. It is also an easy way of cataloging my work and ideas and having access to them from anywhere at any time. Although it does seems strange to me, writing into this 'Web Log' as most of the people reading it will not know me or be interested in what I have to say, and why should they?
